Controllers

ORMEC offers four motion controller families. The ServoWire Motion and Logic Controller (SMLC) is the flagship controller family and provides all of the capability of former ORMEC controllers. It is a motion controller and PLC in one convienient compact unit that is programmed using ORMEC's IEC 61131-3 CoDeSys software. The older controller families are the ORION (ServoWire), ORION (Analog) and Gen3 (Analog).

Indexer Servo Drives

SAC-XD Indexer Servo Drive

ORMEC has a full line of advanced Indexer Servo Drives. This newest product offering is a full featured Indexer with capabilities to perform Indexing, Camming, Gearing, Registration and more. The power range of the XD-Indexer is the widest in the industry with 120-240v from 3Amp to 60 Amp and 460v from 3Amp to 50 Amp.

The XD-Series Indexer Servo Drive is the most advanced Indexer in the industry and features an easy to use, straight forward GUI software interface. The communications with the XD Drive is accomplished using industry standard protocols.

ServoDrives

Servo Drives

ORMEC has four servo drive families. The newest in the line of drives is the SD-Series Drive family. This is the latest in drive technology and is fully compatible with the SMLC family of controllers. This drive communicates with the SMLC through IEEE 1394b FireWire digital communications.

The G-Series servo drive is the drive to use in analog servo systems. These systems are typically older systems and ORMEC has made a commitment to you, our customers, with these systems that we will be there for you as you continue to keep this important equipment operational. We intend to be the supplier of replacement drives for all of our competitions aging drives.

We also continue to support the SM and SW families of drives.

Motors

Servo Motors

ORMEC offers a variety of Servo Motor families. The top of the line is our H-Series servo motor family. Our M-Series is a high performance cost effective family. We also support older families (MAC-A, MAC-B, MAC-C, MAC-D, MAC-E, MAC-F, MAC-G) with new replacements when available and with motor repair services when needed.

ORMEC also supplies linear motors with our L-Series motors. These high performance motors can be used wherever this technology is appropriate.

Gear Boxes

Gearboxes

The APEX servo gearbox has been designed for direct attachment to our servomotors as well as a variety of other manufacturers servomotors. Both the GBX-AB-Series (very low backlash) and the GBX-AE-Series (low backlash) have been designed for continuous(S1) or cyclic(S5) duty operation, and are available as straight shaft or right angle models. Single stage ratios up to 10:1 and two stage ratios up to 100:1 are offered.

Actuators
Actuators

ORMEC offers two lines of linear ball screw actuators. Each actuator has a high performance servo motor and has rugged construction to satisfy your automation requirements.  There is a single guide model and a dual guide model both are high accuracy and low backlash.

X-Y configurations are also available, if this is what you are looking for contact our factory for more information.

HMIs

HMIs

ORMEC’s MMI-8000 flatpanel touchscreens are designed to provide the operator an effective way to control machine operation. Units are available in six, eight and ten inch screen sizes (diagonal), with TFT color displays. These HMIs communicate serially or through TCP/IP Ethernet.

I/O

IO

WAGO Ethernet and Profibus DP I/O feature a wide variety of analog and digital I/O modules that reliably interface the ServoWire Motion & Logic Controller (SMLC) to industrial devices such as switches, sensors, solenoids, valves and motor starters.

Specialty modules are available with up/down counters, incremental encoder interfaces, SSI interfaces and more. The I/O modules are color-coded by function and provide a high degree of isolation and noise immunity between the motion controller and external components.

Pacer Encoders

Pacer Encoder

The ability to interface a position encoder to a ServoWire Drive can provide vital position information to the motion control system. Pacer Encoders provide real-time shaft position data of a machine axis that can be used by any axes in the system when electronic gearing and/or cam profiling is used in an application. This approach is simple, yet effective, because information for the "encoder axis" is available to be used in the same way that information is used from any "servo axis".

Software

Software

ORMEC designs, creates and supports the software for all of its controllers including the SMLC, ORION and the GEN3. We also support the G-Series drive software. This software and all upgrades are available for download by customers who register on the ORMEC website.

In addition, immediate notification of upgrades and new releases is available for those who choose the RSS feed from the ORMEC Product Releases Blog in the News section of this website.
