ORMEC Achieves ISO 9001:2000 Certification

ROCHESTER, NY, June 30, 2005 -- ORMEC Systems Corp. announced today it has been certified under the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System standard.

ISO 9001:2000 is an international standard that defines requirements for an organization’s Quality Management System (QMS), and demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable regulatory requirements, as well as enhancing customer satisfaction. It is part of a family of standards published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) often referred to collectively as the ISO 9000 series.

Certification was granted by BVQi (NA), for its sales, market, design, manufacture, service and repair of motion control devices and related software and providing certified training for IEC 61131-3 programming. BVQi is the most widely recognized registrar in the world today, providing options for multiple accreditations that are recognized worldwide.

Over the past two years, ORMEC has totally restructured itself through the implementation of company-wide lean manufacturing and business practices. Dr. Edward Krasnicki, President and CEO of ORMEC Systems, explains that “this change in business model has radically increased productivity and reduced cost, allowing ORMEC to be much more competitive on a global basis”. To complete the transformation, the team at ORMEC took on a very aggressive program to achieve ISO 9001:2000 certification. By successfully completing this program, ORMEC has joined the ranks of companies worldwide that are recognized for attaining certain process, management and quality standards.
